Project Description
Synchronize Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services/Active Directory Application Mode accounts with User Profiles within SharePoint 2010.

SharePoint provides no native method to import profiles from Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services/Active Directory Application Mode. Instead, the only option out of the box is an LDIF import. However, this only supports import as a Windows account username.

With Nauplius.SharePoint.ADLDS.UserProfiles, AD LDS/ADAM Users can be pulled into the User Profile Service.

Prior to pulling in a User Profile, AD LDS/ADAM users will display the logon identity as the display name:

If the AD LDS/ADAM user attempts to make a Profile, their Preferred Name is changed to the Claims Identity:

By importing the Profiles, the user can have a friendly Preferred Name (e.g. using the displayName attribute) instead:

As well as fixing up their Display Name, other profile attributes are pulled in:

Department
Display Name
First Name
Last Name
Office
Title
Website
Work Email
Work Phone
