Project DescriptionThe projects included here assist Administrators with managing SharePoint combined with Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services/ADAM.
Nauplius.ADLDS.FBA
Non-Windows providers require manual configuration or complex automation. This solution aims to solve that for you! The Nauplius.ADLDS.FBA Farm solution has two components: A fill-in-the-blanks and push-a-button configuration for AD LDS Forms-Based Authentication configuration as well as a User Profile import for those users in the AD LDS container configured for the Web Application.
The FBA portion of the solution allows an Administrator to leverage a simple Central Administration configuration page to enter the details about the AD LDS instance that the Web Application will be leveraging. After that is complete, the administrator then simply enables the Nauplius.ADLDS.FBA feature on the Web Application. The solution automatically provisions the appropriate web configuration settings. The solution will also monitor the SecurityToken service's web.config to make sure it stays consistent for the environment.
With the User Profile import solution, AD LDS/ADAM Users can be pulled into the User Profile Service.
Prior to pulling in a User Profile, AD LDS/ADAM users will display the logon identity as the display name:

If the AD LDS/ADAM user attempts to make a Profile, their Preferred Name is changed to the Claims Identity:

By importing the Profiles, the user can have a friendly Preferred Name (e.g. using the displayName attribute) instead:

As well as fixing up their Display Name, other profile attributes are pulled in:
